So this happened.
Tonight I attended the opening of the Game of Thrones exhibit in NYC simply planning to take pictures of awesome costumes and props. There was fun themed food and drink to be had and it was set to be a great night.
I had missed sitting on the Iron Throne twice already and was disappointed to find out the one at the exhibit was up a few stairs. And then I met Maisie Williams (Arya) and Sophie Turner (Sansa). We were having a casual conversation when I mentioned the stairs and they made it their mission to get me on the Iron Throne. With a little help from HBO and a wonderful security guard, I was carried up the steps and placed gently on the famous seat. The girls grabbed Natalie Dormer (Margaery) and John Bradley (Sam), who were also in attendance, to join us for this completely EPIC photo.
It was completely unexpected and the girls went out of their way to make one of my dreams come true. I could not thank them enough and everyone was so nice! I felt like a true Khaleesi.
I’m basically soaring on a dragon right now.
(Find out more about the exhibit, which is free and open to the public, on the Game of Thrones Twitter.)
These days I’m climbing on everything, much to Winston’s dismay. Now that I can get up on the couch, he’s got nowhere to hide!
Did you know that the letter “S” is for Schnauzer? Winston taught me that this week. I’m learning all kinds of things both at school and at home!
Also: What IS a Schnauzer, anyway?
Winston doesn’t understand the finer points of playing peek-a-boo. He wasn’t very impressed this week when I tried to show him how surprising I can be when I play peek-a-boo.
I think he’s just jealous that he can’t reach his paws up to cover his eyes. What does he mean by element of surprise, anyway?
Poor Winston. I’ve gone back to school and now he’s home alone all day without me.
I miss him, too, but they keep me really busy at school. I’m in a new classroom with new friends and new toys. My teachers are really nice, and I do crafts, have snacks, take a nap, and play all day. I’m sad at first when mama drops me off in the morning, but before I know it, the day goes by and it’s time to go home… my favorite part of the day, because it means I get to play with my best friend again!
I like teaching Winston all of the new things I’ve learned each day. He’s going to be the smartest schnauzer ever!
Guys, my comics make things happen.
See, last week I told Winston that he needed a haircut. And this week… TA DA! He has a new haircut! Do you remember back when Winston made fun of me for not walking yet in a comic? And then the very next day I took my first steps! My comics are magic.
Last week Winston’s hair covered his eyes and he could barely see. Then one evening this past week, daddy and I dropped him off at the groomer’s house. Winston came home a few hours later and I almost didn’t recognize him! His hair was pretty short and his face looked a little different, but I could tell it was definitely Winston the minute we started playing… I’d know my best friend anywhere!
Winston is in denial.
He needs a haircut, badly. He’s so scruffy and his hair is so long that it covers his eyes! He says he can see just fine but… he keeps bumping into things. Sometimes I’m not sure if he’s really paying attention to me when I talk to him because I can’t see his eyes. (Knowing him, he’s probably napping instead of listening.)
Let’s hope mama and daddy make him a grooming appointment soon!
I just got back from vacation!
My family went to Canada because my parents used to live there. We got to visit family and a bunch of mama and daddy’s friends. Did you know that my daddy is Canadian? I guess that makes me American AND Canadian, right?
Winston was born in Canada and also used to live there with mama and daddy, but he stayed home with grandma and grandpa on this trip. Though I had lots of fun eating Tim Bits from Tim Hortons, playing on the beaches of Penticton in British Columbia, and buying lots of new books in Calgary, I missed my best friend.
I knew Winston would want a present from Canada, so I thought I’d bring him back the best gift of all… ME! We’ve got a lot of catching up to do! It’s good to be home.
